Mercedes García Rupérez


Mercedes García Rupérez has a degree in Oenology from the University of La Rioja and in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Madrid. On top of that, she has a master´s degree in Oenology and Viticulture, also from the University of Madrid.

After working for almost 10 years modernizing Montecillo´s wines, Mercedes García Rupérez and her technical team have created a renewed range in our winery which follows the footsteps of the tradition of the brand and the region, and is capable of going beyond, to take its identity, deeply rooted in the region, to a modern and unique expression.

For Mercedes, the main challenge of this evolution has been learning how to innovate. The learning process started where all the best of Montecillo begins, in the vineyard. Working with the vines, selecting small parcels, strengthening the ties with our vine-growers. Firmly showing that passion for the land and the experience of a centenary winery are essential for capturing the hearts of today´s clients.

Carmelo Espinosa Muga


Carmelo has a degree in Biology from the University of Malaga. His passion for animals and plants shows throughout his professional career: Carmelo has worked with lynxes in Doñada, as laboratory technician in genetic departments and general diagnostics and even as scientific observer in whale watching.

After 2014 he returns home to study oenology and viticulture in the UNED and the University of La Rioja. Today he is Merche her right hand in monitoring and advising the vineyards related with the bodega.

Carmelo Espinosa Muga has a degree in Biology from the University of Malaga and studied Oenology and Viticulture at the University of La Rioja. Carmelo belongs to a young generation that loves, understands and cares for the Riojan vines just like his ancestors did. With his education, his drive and passion for the land, he represents that authentic spirit that we look for in Bodegas Montecillo: in the vineyard is where everything begins.

Rocio Osborne

Brand Ambassador and sixth generation of the family

The philosophy of the Osborne Group is based on selecting the best professionals on an international level for the development of its brands. In 2006, a member of the Osborne family se enters the family business in an exceptional way; Rocío started her formation as Brand Ambassador in the international division. Today she represents the company before institutional organizations, clients and media in Spain and abroad. Always active in all the sectors of the company, she also manages the training seminars and wine tastings for commercial and distribution teams.

In this moment, after extensive experience in the family business, she has a new challenge: to make the wines and values of Montecillo known all around the world.
