The neighbourhood Justicia, located in Madrid centre, owns its name for being the home to the Supreme Court and the Court of Audits. Nowadays it is one of the most touristic areas of the capital where it is easy to find gourmet stores, traditional pubs, art galleries and other places that boast the latest cosmopolitan designs. This is the neighbourhood to see and to be seen and this glamorous setting, the challenge for James has been to pick up just 3 restaurants out of a huge an excellent offer.

Brothers David and Mario Villalón opened a modern bistro-cocktail bar in Madrid centre in La Reina St 4. Every week the menu changes to incorporate fresh seasonal products, sometimes even from their own vegetable garden.  James couldn´t resist to the tuna cheek in honey, one of the most delicious dishes of this place combined with an elegant, fruity and fresh Rioja wine like Montecillo Crianza, though the truth is, that every dish on the menu is worth trying, from the pisto to the monkfish suquet.

The market of San Anton opened in 2012 on Augusto Figueroa St 24B consisting of 7500 m2 divided in 3 floors where you can find very high quality products: meat, fish and natural products that you can eat at home or in the market. Yes, it is a Paradise for gourmet-lovers as you can choose the raw material, like the best beef sirloin and order it to the sky (as the rooftop restaurant is called) cooked to your preferred style. La Cocina de San Anton restaurant is also a magnificent terrace where you can be delighted with Madrid´s skyline whilst enjoying a delicious meat and a Montecillo Reserva.

Since its inauguration in 1854 many historic figures have enjoyed this recognized tavern located in Libertad St 16. Lorca or Neruda are just some examples of renowned personalities who have walked in this emblematic place. Known for its traditional recipes, the chefs have revitalized them to make them as appealing as they were decade’s back and in addition, now are elaborated with daily ecological products.  Its colourful tiles and the wooden bar are the perfect scene to try the pepitoria chicken or some delicious squids, a Madrilenian classic.
